CAIIS qacagʷac (Oceanspray plant) Awards for Faculty and Staff

Applications Due April 6, 2020 at midnight PST

The Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies (CAIIS) proudly presents the qacagʷac Awards, previously known as the CAIIS Faculty and Staff Career Advancement Fund, to support the professional development needs of faculty and staff in the field of American Indian and Indigenous Studies.

For faculty, priority will be given to requests for financial support that will enable colleagues to complete or enhance materials for their tenure or promotion dossiers. qacagʷac can assist faculty members with a range of activities related to their research, scholarship, and creative activity, including (but not limited to): hiring an editor; paying for necessary permissions; arranging a manuscript workshop with a relevant scholar outside the UW; purchasing necessary supplies to complete a project; arranging a formal external review of a performance or exhibition; and so forth.

For staff, priority will be given to requests for financial support that will enable colleagues to participate in professional development opportunities or complete specialized training relevant to their work.

Faculty and staff may apply for up to $3,000 per academic year. Expenses related to travel are not covered by these funds.
